One day you look in the mirror
And it’s not you anymore
The mind behind the eyes
Says I’m the same as I always was
But the eyes in the mirror
Aren’t the same as I was

When they say the mirror lies
Is it your eyes or is it your mind
Thought betray memory belayed
Shaken loose from the grasp
Of a life long trance and finally see
An old man’s eyes looking back at me

I wake up up and think I wanna
Run around the park and play
Ride my bikes to Pete’s and say
You are about to die
Feed me another quarter please
This Gauntlet I will defeat

Ride my bike up and down the street
GI Joe in the trees
Climb on the garage and feel
The warm wind blowing
And talk to my friends who say
Tomorrow will be even better, way

One day you look in the mirror
And it’s not you anymore
The Mind behind the eyes can tell
That glint has no rebel’s yell
No hope or sway for a better day
The mind behind the eyes it say
I’m the same as always
But an old man’s eyes are
Looking back at me
